Elmbridge Borough Council Cost of Living Fund Now Open

The funding must only be used to support Elmbridge residents - Elmbridge Council have already allocated £300,000 to this funding round, bringing the total to £500,000 pledged this year to cost-of-living support.
Cllr Gill Coates, Portfolio Holder for Community Care, said: We know large numbers of families and individuals in Elmbridge are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.

Surrey Recycling – DIY Waste U-Turn

From 1st September, Surrey County Council will lift charges on resident DIY waste in line with Government policy changes that were proposed in June. DIY waste can be accepted at nine of the 15 community recycling centres and access to the rubble and plasterboard containers will continue to be controlled and monitored.

However, recently the local village shop has been subject to accusations that one of its displays is "..triggering and racist..."Farrants is facing calls to remove a poster showing "broken black men" on a tobacco plantation.

Hersham Green Shopping Centre Development Proposals

It has been confirmed that there will be additional drop-in consultation events where residents can view the revised plans, talk to the project team and leave feedback. The drop-in events will be held be held in Unit 11/12 of Hersham Green Shopping Centre, which is the former Martin’s Shop on: • Thursday 13 July from 3pm-7pm • Saturday 15 July from 10am-2pm There will also be an online presentation held on Monday 17 July from 6pm-7pm.
