About Cook Stars Molesey to Leatherhead

Hello, my name is Emma, and I am the proud owner of Cook Stars Molesey to Leatherhead.

Having completed a degree in hotel and catering management, I started off working in the hospitality industry but very quickly realised that managing family life around the unsociable working hours was going to be tricky. I re-trained as a teacher and have been able to utilise my knowledge and skills to teach both food & nutrition and business studies in London, Sussex and Surrey schools.

I have loved teaching; it is especially rewarding to teach young people practical cookery skills and give them the knowledge they need to eat healthily. After 30 plus years in education, however, it was time for a change, and I am excited to continue my food journey with Cook Stars.

My children started cooking with me at an early age, and I love that Cook Stars enables children of all ages to cook and learn about food in a fun way. There is nothing better than being able to take home something you have cooked for your family and seeing the children's pride and enjoyment when they have made something great, really makes this the best job in the world.

Minis and Juniors classes (2–5-year-olds and 5–11-year-olds)

Minis and Junior sessions are filled with tasty food, plenty of hands-on experience and are great fun!

Our classes are designed with little chefs in mind and each week your child will learn to cook something different that they will love to eat, for example, pizza, muffins, bread.

Each child has their own workstation and creates their own delicious dish from scratch.

They take their dish home along with a recipe card to keep.

Children take part in a fun craft activity whilst the dishes are cooking and enjoy a snack.

Children are kept busy and entertained the entire time! Our classes provide everything your child will need – aprons, ingredients, equipment, and packaging to take their dish home.

Academy classes (11–17-year-olds)

Older children, (year 6 and upwards) may prefer to join our academy classes which allow them to learn a variety of more challenging techniques and build confidence in the kitchen week on week.

As with minis and junior’s classes, we provide everything pupils need for class; each week all ingredients and equipment are provided, along with refreshments and a recipe card to take home. We alternate sweet and savoury recipes, and cook a wide variety of foods, for example Indian, Chinese, Italian, Spanish, Mexican dishes as well as pies, cakes, and puddings.

We keep our classes small, so we can give each person as much help and support as they need. We encourage everyone to work independently but teach as a group, so everyone works at the same pace, and no one gets left behind!

Everyone has their own workstation and prepares and cooks their own ingredients to create their own dish. All pupils participate in helping clear up at the end, wash their own dishes and wipe down their cooking area before they take home their dish to enjoy!

As well as term time classes, we also run holiday workshops and have some fantastic party packages.
