Starting a Ballet School In My 20's!
My name is Grace Buskell and I am Principal of Relevé School of Ballet in Weybridge.
I founded Relevé School of Ballet in September 2021 with a clear intention; provide enjoyable, high-quality ballet classes within a supportive and enriching environment.
My aim was to offer excellent teaching in classical ballet to all my students (currently ranging in age from 4 to 16 years). Our ethos is to nurture every dancer’s creative and technical talents, instil self-confidence and foster a lifelong love of dance.
Setting up a business in my 20s was very daunting to say the least, but I was very fortunate to have my mum Jackie behind me. Jackie is a huge support and genuinely passionate about the school.
She regularly comes to say hello to the children and fit our uniform. The students love her (and the sweets she gives them after watching week!).
When I established Relevé School of Ballet I could only have dreamt that two years on we would have over 80 wonderful students enrolled with us.
My team and I teach all the way from Pre-Primary up to Grade 8 and beyond.
Our students join us at various points in their lives; many starting ballet for the first time, whilst others join us later in their dance journey in search of a school with serious training in classical ballet which will help them achieve their goals.
For many, those goals will look something like passing their Royal Academy of Dance ballet exams, having the chance to perform on stage with us or even just being able to dance every week alongside focused, likeminded young people.
Others come to us wanting to pursue a professional career in classical ballet. We know that most students dance recreationally, but our team can also offer expert guidance to students who want to audition for vocational ballet school.
From as young as 4 years old, our students receive high-quality, fun but structured ballet classes, taught by committed staff who pride themselves in providing the best teaching possible.
As a school we will always try and give you every opportunity we can to succeed and our students are at the heart of what we do.
That is one of the lovely things about our school – it doesn’t matter whether you come once or 8+ hours a week (some really do love it!), you are always treated with the same kindness and respect.
We are currently accepting new students and would be delighted to welcome you and your child for a trial class with us.
In particular we have exciting NEW classes for September 2023 – Pilates and Creativity & Contemporary. Both classes are held on Saturday afternoons (1.30-3pm) at Cleves School, KT13 9TS and we would love to welcome new students to try.
